How to Send Mass Email in Salesforce Lightning?

Mass Emailing allows you to send an email template (along with images, attachments and merge fields), to a contact list, person accounts or leads. Starting from Winter 18 Release Salesforce has brought the mass emailing feature to the Lightning environment with outstanding features and slick interfaces. To serve the purpose of separating two features, Salesforce has renamed “Mass Emails” to “List Emails”.

The list email sends a separate email from a list view based on the lead or contact object. It is sent to each recipient, not the entire group. Send customized and personalized emails to recipients in contact lists, leads, and campaigners. One can even select individual entries in the list or view of the campaign. List email is about facilitating your business processes, not replacing your email application or handling mass-marketing campaigns.

What Are The Steps To Send Mass Email In Salesforce Lightning?

Step 1. 

• Go To “Contact” Object to see all Contacts Records 
• Click on the “All Contacts” List view as shown in the below figure. 

Step 2.

• Click the arrow on the right corner and choose “Send List Email” as shown in the below figure.
• Choose the “Send List Email” Button.

Step 3.

• Select a Contact from all the Contact records.
• Select a contact from the List by Checking the Name Box as shown in the below figure. 

Step 4.

• Click on the send list email button.
• Email popup editor open and you can attach any files for recipients.
• Click on the “Send” button as shown in the below figure. 

But if you don’t want to Send Mail to all the recipients

• Go back to step 3. 
• Don’t hit the “Send List Email” button, firstly you have to filter out your contacts records and choose only that contact that you need. 
• You can manually check the Records only  when you have only 20 to 30 records but if you have 100 to 1000 records then you take the following steps:

Step 1. 

• Click on“All Contacts” Filter
• Click on the Right upper corner and click on Settings Icon.
• Click settings and choose “Edit List Filters” as shown in the below figure. 

Step 2: 

You have only one filter but if you want to add more filters then you have to follow these steps:

• Click on the settings icon 
• Click on Edit list filter
• Click on the “Add Filter” menu as shown in the below figure. 

You can choose a filter and if you want to add more filters then you have to follow these steps:

Step 2: 

• If you want to filter the contacts then click on the dropdown arrow box and select “Send list Email”. 

Step 3:

• Select and create an email template.
• Click on the Merge fields section.

• You can also insert “Merge Fields” if you want. Choose what you need and click insert as shown in the below figure. When the email is ready, click send.

Step 4. 

You’ll receive an email notification when your Salesforce email is sent.

Step 5: Done
