Mulesoft, the integration platform provider, is the latest company to release its own service mesh. The company announced the Anypoint Service Mesh to discover, manage, and secure microservices.
The MuleSoft Anypoint Service Mesh would address the evolving requirement to efficiently manage complex environments, loosely-coupled services, and dependencies. In addition to this, it will also be offering reliability and security to microservices-based applications, irrespective of deployment model or language, freeing developers from custom code.
In an announcement, Mulesoft remarked organizations can realize the innumerable advantages of a microservices architecture by inhibiting the complexity and custom code that comes from the management of all of these disparate services. Mulesoft added that developers also need to find and reuse microservices created by other involved teams as breaking down these silos would unlock the true promise of agility, speed, and flexibility from microservices.
The features of MuleSoft Anypoint Service Mesh include the unique ability to visualize microservice dependencies, measure and optimize performance, ensure resilience across services, automatically enforcing access controls, and implement mutual Transport Layer Security (TLS) for all traffic.
Mark Dao, chief product officer of MuleSoft, remarked many of the same patterns that we see in the application network are demonstrated by Microservices. Dao went on to add that we while extending the application network to include microservices make these services easily reusable and discoverable. It was also remarked that developers now have the freedom of building out-of-the-box applications while IT maintains control and security. The Chief Product Officer of MuleSoft said Mulesoft continues to extend its vision with this release for the application network to empower growth-oriented organizations to get a seamless and unified view of their services across the entire enterprise.
